Adult Level 1 Challenges


 
Welcome to the adult level 1 challenges for the #sdg2020challenge!  Here, you'll find a list and explanation for each challenge. 

  1. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Bonus if you bring your friends along with you.
  2. Donate 10+ non-perishable food items to the food sharing initiative in Irkutsk.
  3. Cook a meal using olive oil instead of butter.
  4. Clean out your book collection and donate age-appropriate books to local public schools.
  5. Read this article and have a discussion with your family on the important contributions of women in Russian history. Share your favorite!
  6. To promote sanitation, wash your hands before every meal and after you use public transportation.
  7. Go through your home and unplug any cables from outlets when you are not using them.
  8. Share with coworkers or friends 3 things that you would like to see change in your workplace.
  9. Visit this website to help share how roads can be improved in Russia.
  10. Watch Moscow’s Little Kyrgyzstan with your family and have an open discussion about the film.
  11. Visit a green space with your family and plant a tree there. Share a photo of it on social media.
  12. Bring reusable foot covers with you so you don’t need to use plastic ones. 
  13. Cook entirely vegan for you and your family one day a week.
  14. Do some research on the marine life in your local river or lake. Learn about which species are endangered. Think about possible solutions to prevent overfishing.
  15. To save money and prevent food waste, freeze any leftover foods that you have from your meals so you can use them later.
  16. Learn about nonviolent communication and how you can use it. Think about ways to avoid conflict with others. 
  17. Research an indicator for one of the SDGs and track its progress over the past 20 years. Think about how a challenge you completed has contributed to its progress.

Please make sure that you stay safe and healthy while completing these challenges! Wear a face mask, follow social distancing guidelines, and make sure to wash your hands often. Don't forget to track your progress throughout this challenge on a sticker board!  Have fun and be safe!
